We're starting off the month of Noir-vember with what may be one of the most well-known obscure film noir films, Edgar Ulmer's classic example of the genre, Detour. It has all the essential elements that define Film Noir as a genre- the low-budget, hard-shadow lighting, the moody atmosphere, and the the nice guy who get trapped by fate and is inescapably pulled into the darkness and dragged to his ultimate demise by a combination of a wrong choice, a wrong dame, and a wrong time-wrong-place scenario.
